Where are the Sunday school classes held? May small children join their parents for worship on Sundays?
Q. Where are the Sunday school classes held?
A. Sunday school classes are held in the education wing, the undercroft and under the church down the hall past the bathrooms. The classes are set up by age and any of the teachers will be happy to direct you and your child to the appropriate class setting.
Q. May small children join their parents for worship on Sundays?
A. Yes. Children are welcome to accompany their parents to worship. Sunday school is available for children ages 2 1/2 through 5th grade. All children join their families for Holy Communion. However, parents are welcome to keep their children with them during the entire service. If the child becomes disruptive, you may take them to the Crying Room/Lady Chapel on the 2nd floor of the Education Wing where the service can be heard via speakers.
How do I become a member of the Episcopal Church?
You are always welcome to worship at St Martin’s and participate in service and fellowship activities, regardless of your membership status. We are thrilled to have you in our community. But sometimes people want to go deeper and become a full member of St Martin’s and the Episcopal Church. One becomes a full member through the Sacrament of Confirmation- or if you have already been confirmed in a church with apostolic succession (Roman Catholic, Orthodox, or ELCA), by the rite of Reception into the Episcopal Church with the Laying on of Hands by the Bishop. Confirmation and Reception by the Bishop makes you a member of the Episcopal Church and allows you to serve on the Vestry (which is the lay leadership board for the parish in the Episcopal Church.)
If you are interested in becoming a full member of the parish and of the Episcopal Church, please ask Father Rob for more information.
